For Chef Aaron Cox living in Los Angeles California as a young man introduced him to a large variety of flavors and food styles along the California coast. Chef Cox moved to the South East during high school and worked for local restaurants gaining a passion for deeply rooted southern food styles and traditions.
He then completed his apprenticeship at the world renowned five star Greenbrier Hotel and resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV where he was trained under Certified Master Chef Hartmut Handke as well as numerous Michelin and Mobil rated Chefs.
Chef Aaron attributes his California to Carolina food knowledge from having the opportunity to work as the Chef in some of the country’s most unique locations including the Grand Teton Lodge Company in Jackson Hole Wyoming, The Harborview Hilton in Charleston SC, The Amelia Island Plantation in Fernandina Beach Florida and the University Center Club at Florida State University.
Growing up in the Charlotte NC area gave him a desire to return to Charlotte and have the opportunity to be a part of Charlotte’s quickly rising culinary scene.
Most recently, Chef Aaron was the Executive Chef of the Hornets and he has led many prestigious events during his career. Including the Biletnikoff Awards, the 2012 Democratic National Convention held in Charlotte, the Annual Wells Fargo Golf Championship and the “Green Mile” at the Quail Hollow Country Club and Michael Jordan’s My Heroes Gala just to name a few driving a path to his new role as the Executive Chef of the Westin Hotel Charlotte.
He looks forward to making your culinary experiences truly memorable!
